Cabbage Patch Chili


I was going through my fridge last night and noticed I had some chili peppers to use up. Enter this weeks healthy recipe… Chili, with Cancer fighting cabbage. Bon appetite


  • 225 g ground beef
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced celery
  • 1 can (448 g) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 105 g stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, cook beef, onion and celery until beef is browned and vegetables are tender. Drain off fat.
  2. Add 2 cups water, beans, tomatoes, cabbage, chili powder and salt, and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, until cabbage is tender, about 20 minutes. Top each serving of cabbage patch chili with mashed potatoes, if desired.
