Here’s an easy recipe for a balanced breakfast, it’s quick, easy and tasty. Get your day started right with 15g of protein and carbohydrates. Bon appetite.
Please note that it does have a higher amount of fat than you might do in a single meal, so if you have this be mindful of your saturated fat intake for the rest of the day.
- 6 slices bread
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened (remember less is more)
- 6 eggs
- salt and pepper to taste
- 6 slices Cheddar cheese
- Preheat a large skillet to a high heat.
- With a small biscuit cutter remove centers from bread. Butter slices on one side only. Grill bread until lightly toasted.
- Crack an egg into each bread hole (be careful not to break the yolk). Season with salt and pepper to taste. Lay 1 slice of cheese on each egg and then the bread rounds. Cook until eggs are cooked to your desired consistency.
